Position Summary: Pharmacy Technician prepares compounded sterile products and performs related activities under the direction of a pharmacist
Responsibilities: Essential Duties - Adheres to all CAPS policies and procedures
- Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique.
- Assists in the setup of the compounding room, equipment, and supplies for preparation of compounded sterile solutions, using aseptic technique.
- Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties as directed.
- Participates in cleanroom product introduction activities.
- Prepares records and monitors results for pharmaceutical quality assurance testing.
Level II additionally may:
- Assist in training/mentoring of new IV Technicians as assigned

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills - Requires working knowledge of technical field/area of specialization.
- Exercises general application of principles, theories and concepts.
- Follows established procedures and guidelines.
- Works under direct supervision and from detailed verbal and/or written instructions.
- Uses established procedures to accomplish assigned task.
- May require some limited judgement in resolving problems.
- Contacts are primarily with direct supervisor, peers and subordinates.
- Sterile Compounding experience is not required, we are willing to train the right candidate
Expertise: Qualifications -Education/Experience/Training/Etc Required: - REQUIRED: Pharmacy Technician License issued by the MA Board of Pharmacy
- REQUIRED: National Pharmacy Certification through PTCB or NHA ExCPT
- High school diploma/G.E.D or equivalent required.
- cGMP training/experience desired, training will be provided
- Aseptic processing training/experience desired, training will be provided.
Schedule: (8am-4:30pm) weekdays and every other weekend. Holidays/overtime as required
Salary range is $20.23 - $26.50
The targeted range for this role takes into account a range of factors that are considered when making compensation and hiring decisions; included but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
